Texas Girl
By: Nancy G Brundrett

My daddy moved back to Texas when I was just a little girl
I grew up picking the guitar in my countrified world
Now I’m up on the stage playing my Texas style
A guy in the crowd is dancing in the aisle
Letting my Lone Star flag unfurl
I’m a Texas girl

Walk into a church down along Austin way
Gospel soup was a cooking, knew I had to stay
Singing and a praising with that Jesus beat
I started clapping my hands, then stomping my feet
Letting my Jesus flag unfurl
I’m a Texas girl

Well, Texas girls are special always shining like a star
Folks come from miles around when we pick up our guitar
Chili is a cooking and steaks are on the grill
Come on over here and let this Texas girl show you a thrill

You can get all jacked up with that Nashville kind of sound
Watch CMT and settle for what you found
But, from Kerrville to Corpus, don’t you know what I mean
Come on down to Texas and see our music scene
Let your flag unfurl, maybe be a Texas girl

Well, Texas girls are special always shining like a star
Folks come from miles around when we pick up our guitar
Chili is a cooking and steaks are on the grill
Come on over here and let this Texas girl show you a thrill

Come on over her and let this Texas girl show you a thrill
Texas girl
Texas girl
